How Teya SMS billing works
Twenty free client texts a month, then a $5 prepaid card charge, automatic top-ups, and who actually pays.
Booking on Teya is free. If you turn on texts to clients, you — the provider — pay for those messages. Clients are never charged.
Twenty free texts each month
The first 20 client appointment texts each calendar month (in your timezone) are free. That covers a new booking, a reschedule, when you cancel, and reminders you turned on. Messages send from Teya’s number to United States (+1) numbers only.
After that: $5 prepaid when you add a card
Once the free allotment is used, SMS pauses until there is prepaid balance or a card on file. The first time you add a card — Pay $5 on Settings → Billing, or add a card in Stripe — we charge $5 once. That payment saves the card and adds $5 of SMS balance. You are not charged $5 twice for the same first card.
Then we auto-charge at $5 or month-end
Each paid text is the Telnyx destination cost plus 5¢. Carrier rates vary; we do not quote a fixed per-text price beyond that markup.
When prepaid runs out, unpaid usage accrues up to $5. We charge the card on file when you owe $5, or at month-end, whichever comes first. Month-end amounts under $0.50 roll forward instead of billing.
If a charge fails, client SMS pauses until a later charge succeeds. Email and Telegram still go. Turn SMS off on Settings → Billing — Stripe is only for your card and invoices.
